NCB Jamaica leads on small volume
National Commercial Bank (Jamaica)
Limited was the issue most fancied by investors as 118,621 of the company's
shares changed hands on Friday.
Overall activity was recorded in 17 issues,
amounting to a traded volume of 450,831 shares, with an underlying market value
of $4.52 million.
Also in the limelight were L.J. Williams Limited
Ordinary A with 91,413 shares and Capital and Credit Merchant Bank Limited with
85,915 shares.
Advances dominated the Main Board, with
Republic Bank Limited climbing $0.25 to $71.75 being the most prominent.
Both Grace, Kennedy and Company and West Indian
Tobacco Company Limited shared $0.10 increases to close on $9.60 and $20.70
respectively.
The major Stock Exchange indices both gained
ground with the Composite Index closing 1.27 points higher on 898.49 and the All
T&T Index closing 1.80 points higher on 1,150.65.
On the Mutual Fund Market, Praetorian Property
Mutual Fund saw no activity but the price rising by $0.01 to close at $5.01.
On the Second Tier Market, FNCU Venture
Capital Company Limited and Mora Ven Holdings Limited held steady at $1.05 and
$2.70 respectively.
