Hedonism II undergoes multi-million dollar upgrade
The management of the all-inclusive
Superclubs resorts has undertaken a multi-million dollar upgrading exercise at
its 22-acre flagship property in Negril, Hedonism II.
The upgrading works at the 28 year-old
property, formerly the Negril Beach Village, were begun three months ago and are
to be completed within another two or so weeks, according to Zein Nakash, the
Superclubs' vice-president for marketing.
"We constantly upgrade and improve our
products. We always reinvest into our product. It is just part of our normal
course of business," Nakash stated.
The upgrading efforts target the property's
280 bedrooms and bathrooms. Softer furnishings, drapes and bedspreads have been
added to the bedrooms while bathrooms have been fitted with new stylings.
Already, over 100 bedrooms and bathrooms have
been refurbished.
Hedonism II opened its doors in 1976,
heralding the first-ever all-inclusive hotel property in Jamaica. Over the two
decades since then, the property, which has served as the flagship for the other
seven properties that now form part of the Superclubs chain of resorts, has
attracted thousands of visitors.
"Its hedonistic approach to carefree
vacations continues to create waves in the global travel business," a
release from the Superclubs chain said, adding that the property attracted
repeat guests amounting to over a third of its annual business.
